I am a research scientist at the Eindhoven
University of Technology in the Department
of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences. My research group,
Human-Technology Interaction, is the main provider of the
master
programme Human-Technology Interaction The topics of my main concern are
sound design, multimodal perception, and non-speech audio. At the moment I focus
on the synthesis and perception of interactive impact sounds.
Please hear a selection of my synthetic impact sounds.
The subjects of my selected bibliography summarize my expertise. Click here for my full bibliography.
There are various subjects:
The summary content of my lecture series on Sound Perception including a
bibliography can be found at my website:
http://home.ieis.tue.nl/dhermes/lectures/SoundPerception.
At the moment, previously together with Robbert-Jan Beun (now at Utrecht University), I am compiling a list of words indicating sounds. For people who do not speak Dutch, sorry, this list is in Dutch, but in the future we may compile such a list for some other languages. You can view this list. Some of the sounds in this list can be heard.
